OVERVIEW

Independent quality assurance for content that is already translated

We perform comprehensive linguistic quality checks on translated and localized content to identify and correct language, terminology, consistency and formatting issues before publication or delivery. Our linguists are independent of whoever produced the translation — a second pair of eyes with no reason to defend the original choices.

The work happens in context, not in a spreadsheet. We review your strings inside the running build, your subtitles against the picture, your copy inside the page layout — because a translation that reads correctly in isolation can still break a button, run past a character limit, or land on the wrong screen. Every issue is logged with a severity rating so your team knows what must be fixed before release and what can wait.

Linguistic QA covers more than wording. We check terminology against your glossary, verify that names, units, dates, currencies and address formats follow the conventions of the target market, and flag text that overflows its container, truncates, or breaks in the wrong place. Where a style guide exists, we test against it. Where one does not, we build a short one as we work and hand it back to you.

Whether you need a single release checked before launch, an existing catalogue audited, or a linguist working alongside your team every sprint — our linguistic QA services scale to the work. Per-hour review for one-off checks, project pricing for full audits, and framework agreements for continuous release cycles.

EDUCATIONAL

How linguistic QA actually works, from reference materials to signed-off release

Linguistic QA is not a second translation. It is a structured inspection with an agreed scope, a severity scale and a written record. Here is how our linguistic QA services move your content from delivered translation to release-ready.

01

Reference & Style Guide Review

Before we read a single string we collect your glossary, style guide, brand voice rules, previously approved translations and any market-specific requirements. Where these do not exist, we agree the rules with you upfront — so every finding is measured against an agreed standard rather than a reviewer's personal taste.

02

In-Context Linguistic Check

Your content is reviewed where it will actually be seen: inside the app or game build, against the picture, in the page layout, on the device. Native linguists check meaning, register, grammar and readability while looking at exactly what your user will see — including truncation, overlap, and text that breaks in the wrong place.

03

Terminology & Consistency Audit

Every term is checked against your glossary and against itself. We flag the same source word translated three different ways, product names that shift between screens, UI labels that no longer match the documentation, and units, dates, currencies and name formats that do not follow the target market's conventions.

04

Bug Logging & Severity Rating

Each issue is logged in your tracker or ours with the location, the source text, the current translation, the proposed correction, and a severity rating — critical, major, minor, or preferential. The rating is what makes the report usable: your team sees immediately what blocks release and what can wait for the next cycle.

05

Fix Verification & Sign-Off

Once your team implements the corrections we re-check every logged issue in context, confirm nothing new broke, and close the report with written sign-off. You receive the final issue log, the resolution status of each item, and any glossary or style guide updates that came out of the review.

WHAT WE OFFER

Every format where a translation can pass on paper and fail on screen

Our linguistic QA services cover every layer of translated content — from software builds and subtitle files to marketing campaigns and dubbing scripts — reviewed in context by native specialists across 48 languages.

Website & App QA
In-context

Translated sites and apps reviewed on real screens — navigation, forms, error messages, empty states. We catch truncation, overlap and untranslated strings that only appear in the running product.

In-context

Game & Software Build QA

Playthrough review of localized builds: menus, dialogue, tutorials, HUD and error states. Character limits, variable placement and first-party platform terminology checked in language.

Build-side

Subtitle & Caption QA

Subtitle files checked against picture and audio — accuracy, reading speed, line breaks, character limits, speaker IDs and shot-change timing, to your platform's delivery spec.

Timed text

Marketing & Campaign QA

Campaign copy, landing pages, ads and social assets reviewed before launch. Tone, claim wording and cultural fit checked — not only whether the words are correct.

Brand voice

Dubbing & Voice-Over Script QA

Scripts checked before the studio is booked — accuracy, pronunciation, register and timing fit. A fix in the script costs minutes; after recording it costs a session.

Terminology & Glossary Audit

An audit of terminology across your existing translated content. We map every term in use, flag conflicts between products and vendors, and hand back a cleaned, approved glossary.

Linguistic QA compared: DIGI MEDIA vs Alternatives

Most companies check translations one of two ways — they ask the vendor who did the work, or they ask a colleague in the market. Here is how independent linguistic QA compares.

FAQ

Linguistic QA frequently asked questions

Everything localization managers, release managers and QA leads need to know about our linguistic QA services.

What is linguistic QA?

Linguistic QA is an independent quality check on content that has already been translated. A native specialist reviews it in the context where it will appear — in your app, on screen, in the file — and logs every issue with its location, a severity rating and a proposed correction. It is inspection and reporting, not re-translation.

Proofreading is a final language polish: grammar, spelling, punctuation and style in a document, before publishing. Linguistic QA is a structured inspection of translated content in its real environment, with terminology auditing, severity-rated issue logs and fix verification. If you have a text to tidy, you need proofreading. If you have a release to sign off, you need QA.

Yes — that is the normal case. Most of our QA work is on translations produced by other vendors, in-house teams, or machine translation. We have no stake in the original choices, which is the point. We can also review our own translation work, but where independence is a formal requirement we tell you plainly which team did what.

Every issue is rated critical, major, minor or preferential. Critical blocks release. Major is a real error that should be fixed before launch. Minor can wait for the next cycle. Preferential means the translation is correct but a reviewer would have phrased it differently — no fix required. The rating is what stops a hundred-line report turning into an argument about what actually needs doing.

We work in 48 languages and 63 regional versions, across Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia. Every project is handled by a native specialist in the target language. You can see the full list, including versions such as Brazilian Portuguese, Latin American Spanish and Canadian French, on our Languages page.

Up to 5 working days after we receive your materials for a standard scope. Volume is the main variable — a single app release and a full game build are not the same job. We confirm the exact turnaround with your quote, before you commit.

The content in a reviewable form — build access, a staging link, the subtitle files, or the document. Plus your glossary, style guide and any previously approved translations, if they exist. If they don’t, we agree the rules with you first, so findings are measured against an agreed standard rather than personal taste.

Yes. We log issues directly in Jira, Azure DevOps, or whichever tracker you use, following your ticket format. If you would rather not grant access, we deliver the same information as a structured log you can import.

Yes. Full-build linguistic passes before first-party submission are a regular part of our game work — menus, dialogue, tutorials, HUD, error states and platform terminology checked in language. Pre-release builds are handled under signed NDA in TPN Gold certified infrastructure.

By volume and scope — word count, string count, build hours, or number of files, depending on the content type. One-off reviews are quoted per project. Continuous release cycles run on framework agreements with agreed rates and reserved capacity. Send a sample and your target languages for a fixed quote within 24 hours.
