1. Introduction to subtitling

Terminology; timecodes, FPS and CPS; subtitling workflows from scratch, in prepared files, with templates and with AI-generated subtitles.

Interface, video window, subtitle list, waveform, client profile, video offset, frame rate, saving discipline.

Cue-in and cue-out; line breaks; translation shortening; dialogue formatting; on-screen text; italics and subtitle positioning.

Loading SRT/TC files; point sync; correcting AI text; splitting long subtitles; duration and gap checks; error lists.

Screening of first subtitle tasks; common error review; timecode, readability and line-break feedback; file revision.

Detailed individual review; final corrections; summative verification of the project file.
